Omaha, NE –Jay Alan Ritchie age 42 of Omaha passed away March 2, 2018 at the Quality Living Inc. surrounded by family and best friend ever Lance Lovitt.
Funeral services will be held on Friday March 9, 2018 at 10:30 AM in Govier Brothers Mortuary at Broken Bow, NE with Pastor Mel Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in the Waldheim Cemetery between Callaway and Arnold. A visitation will be held on Thursday March 8, 2018, 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM with the family greeting friends 6 PM to 7 PM at Govier Brothers Mortuary. Memorials are suggested to the Quality Living Center Inc. in Omaha.
Jay was born on May 14, 1975 in Broken Bow to Marvin and Debra (Wonch) Ritchie. Jay graduated from Ansley High School with the class of 1993. He graduated from Southeast Community College in Milford with a degree in Machine Tool and CAD/Cam Tech-mold Maker Option.
Jay worked for Rod and Deb Bruntz of Hastings, refurbishing trucks. He refurbished his 1974 Road Runner. Jay loved all animals. His passion in life was racing , starring with Go-Karts, through mini-sprints and finishing with 600 Modified Midget. He was coached by his dad, his boss Rod Bruntz, uncles Rodger Ritchie, Rod Wonch and Duane Stunkel, Gary Ritchie and several aunts and numerous cousins (male and female) and lots of friends. His mom was his greatest cheerleader.
Preceded in death by Grandfathers Charles “Doc” Ritchie and Don Wonch, Great Grandmother Guyneth Wonch, Cousins Jason Ritchie and Trace Ritchie, Uncles Gary Ritchie and Rodger Ritchie, Great Uncle Ross Roberts, Great Aunt and Uncle Charles and Dolores Clouse.
Survived by Mom and Dad, Grandmothers Wanda Ritchie and Maxine Wonch, Uncles Robert Ritchie, Kenny Newman, Rod Wonch, Aunts Bonita Ritchie, Barb Bacon, Diane Stunkel and numerous cousins and friends
