John Marc Hurley, 72, of Broken Bow, Nebraska passed away on February 5, 2023. Marc, as he was known by all, passed away with his wife of 40 years, Beverly, by his side after a short battle with cancer.
Marc was born in San Antonio, TX to John Gerard and Janice Ruth Hurley, on August 16, 1950. He was drafted into the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Sam Houston, a U.S. Navy Ballistic Missile Submarine.
After the U.S. Navy, Marc worked as a mason which propelled him to a long career in the construction field. He enjoyed cooking, traveling, and sports of all types, especially NASCAR and golf. After retirement, Marc worked part time at local golf courses leading to many hours of golf.
Marc is survived by his wife Beverly; sons, Edward Hurley of Aurora, CO and Ryan Hurley (Amanda) of Littleton, CO; grandkids, Jillian, Genevieve, and Mason of Littleton, CO; sister Karen (Philip) Millis of Monument, CO; mother-in-law, Wanda Johnson and sister-in-law Sharon Johnson both of Broken Bow; brother-in-law Dale Johnson of Brady, NE; sister-in-law Kathy Hurley of Commerce City, CO; and brother-in-law James Downey of Norton MA.
Marc is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Kevin and Gregg, sister Janice Downey, and father-in-law, Dallas Johnson. His brother David died shortly after Marc's passing.
A small family burial service will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, CO, June 12, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to any VA hospital, Honorflight.org, or to any local animal shelter.
