Joyce Lomax

Joyce Lomax age 94 of Broken Bow, NE passed away June 23, 2022, at the Brookestone View in Broken Bow.

Funeral services will be Thursday, June 30, 2022, at 10:30 am at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow with Pastor Mary Jane Gockley officiating. Burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery.  A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 29^th from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow. Joyce Darlene was born December 17, 1927, in Ansley, NE to Walter and Lucy (Curtis) Thieman, she was the youngest of five children. Joyce attended and graduated from Ansley High School. Joyce was united in marriage December 26, 1947, to Clifford “Bud” Lomax, the couple was parents to twin daughters, Constance “Connie” Joyce and Leslie Ann born June 29, 1950.

Joyce worked for the Chet Lindner Insurance Agency and Arrow Motors for several years here in Broken Bow, after the death of her husband Joyce moved to Holdrege to help her daughter Leslie with her store “Leslie’s Fashions”. Leslie passed away in 2004, Joyce returned to Broken Bow. Joyce enjoyed cooking and crossword puzzles. Joyce loved to read to continue to learn to better oneself. She was and advocate for continued education, so memorials will be given in her name to Custer County Foundation for scholarships or donor’s choice.

Joyce is survived by daughter Connie Pearson of Broken Bow, son-in-law Kirk McClymont of Holdrege, grandchildren: Wade (Michelle) Pearson, kids Seth and Hannah of Oconto, Laurie (Randon) Peters, kids Ryland & Laney of McCook, Chris (Becky) Pearson, kids Emma and Gracie of Broken Bow, Ali (Billy) Post of Denver, CO, Drew (Katy) McClymont, kids Paul & Michael of Holdrege, and sister-in-law Ann Keller of Topeka, KS.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Bud, daughter Leslie, three sisters Louise, Lenna Mae, and Bonnie, a brother Louis, and son-in-law Bill Pearson.
