Keith was born September 13, 1930, at the family home near Janesville, NE. He was the fourth child of Walter and Blanche (Allen) Hogg. Keith attended school at Janesville and Berwyn and completed his high school education graduating with the class of 1947 at Ansley High School.
Keith married his bride of nearly 72 years, Marilyn Patterson, at the Ansley Methodist Church on January 1, 1950. In their early married years, they lived in or near Broken Bow, Ansley, Loup City, and Arcadia where Keith worked a variety of jobs; finally getting the opportunity to farm on his own in the Ash Canyon area. In 1960 the family moved to where Keith and Marilyn continued to reside until recent poor health issues forced some changes.
Family, farming, faith, and baseball were all Keith’s loves. He remained actively involved in farming through his 90th year, and even when he couldn’t safely get in the tractor and plant crops or feed cattle, he still enjoyed trips to the pastures with family members. He always took good care of his animals and his tools of the trade (machinery). He was frugal in his dealings and enjoyed the good years and persevered in the challenging years of his profession. He was always honest and forthright in his dealings and expected nothing less from others.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Marilyn, children, Wayne (Linda) Hogg of Menomonie, WI, Marilee (Jim) Kulhanek of Kearney, Beverly (Gary) Deaver of rural Ansley, Shirley Ryan of Overton, Julie (Neil) Ostrand of rural Mason City, and Janet (Craig) Slack of Ansley; 22 grandchildren, and more than 50 great grandchildren. Surviving siblings include John (Carol) Hogg of Bakersfield, CA, Bob (Gloria) Hogg of Weiser, ID, Jim (Carol) Hogg of Salmon, ID, Donna DeSpain of Longview, WA, Glen (Donna) Hogg of Kelso, WA, and Pat (John) Robarge of Bellevue, WA, Barbara Hogg of Pasco, WA, many nieces and nephews, friends, and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Dan and Bill, sister, Betty Davis, infant sister, sister-in-law, Lola Hogg, brothers-in-law, Marion Davis and Carl DeSpain, and one grandson Nick Ryan.
