April 1, 1970 — March 30, 2025

Broken Bow, NE

Kerry Lynn Bumgarner, 54, of Broken Bow, Nebraska, peacefully passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at The University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, surrounded by her family.

Kerry Lynn Bumgarner was born April 1, 1970, to Loren and Janice Wetch of Mandan, North Dakota. She attended Christ the King School in Mandan. As a young girl, her family moved to Miles City, Montana, where she attended Sacred Heart Catholic School. At the age of 17, Kerry accepted the Lord as her Savior. She graduated from Custer County District High School in Miles City. During high school, she was a waitress at Little Darlings at the Flying J Truckstop. This would be where she would eventually meet the love of her life, Aaron Bumgarner. Aaron and Kerry were united in marriage on May 25, 1991.

As a young couple, Kerry joined Aaron and his brother on their custom harvesting crew. During this time, they resided in Broken Bow, Nebraska. They grew their family by adopting three young boys, Randy, Josh, and Eric. While in Broken Bow, she grew her love for working with young children, alongside Stacey McMeen at the local preschool. Aaron and Kerry relocated to Ohio and eventually moved to Missouri in 2001. They lived in Springfield, Missouri, for 19 years. During this time, Aaron and Kerry opened their home to many children. They adopted Steven, Will, Matthew, Matt, and Jay while in Springfield. Kerry earned a degree in Mental Health Counseling during her time in Springfield. In 2020, Kerry and Aaron moved back to Broken Bow, Nebraska, to be closer to family. Kerry once again worked with youth while employed for the Department of Health and Human Services in Broken Bow. She had a heart of gold and loved helping others.

Kerry had many passions throughout her life. She dearly loved her husband of 33 years, being a Mimi to her grandchildren, and had a strong faith in the Lord. You could always hear Kerry cheering for her boys, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews at their sporting events. Kerry enjoyed sharing her love of music, singing, and adored her puppies. She had an infectious smile and a laugh that filled the room. Above all, her grandchildren, children, and big family were her greatest joys.

Kerry is survived by her husband, Aaron of Broken Bow, Ne; sons Randy (Angie), Joshua, Matt, and Jay Bumgarner of Broken Bow; Steven, Will, Mark, and Matthew Bumgarner of Springfield, Missouri; and foster son Bryndon Lampe of Springfield, Missouri. Grandchildren include Benjamin, Seth, Anastasia and MyraLynn. She is also survived by her mother, Janice Wetch and brother, Travis (Holly) Wetch of Mandan, North Dakota; sister Shelly (Jason) Blotsky of Moorhead, Minnesota; Mother-In-Law Theresa Bumgarner of Broken Bow, Brothers-In-Law, Anson (Carmen) Bumgarner, Darrick (Holly) Bumgarner, and sister-in-law Carrie (Derek) Thornton of Broken Bow, Nebraska, and many nieces and nephews.
