LaDonna Davis

LaDonna Davis, age 90, of Lincoln, NE, formerly of Broken Bow, NE, passed away Dec. 6, 2022, at Hillcrest Country Estates in Papillion, NE.  The memorial service will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022, at 11:00 am at Mount Olive Evangelical Lutheran Church 7979 Holdrege Street in Lincoln, NE 68505. 

LaDonna Mae Davis, was born April 25, 1932, in York, NE to Oscar and Stella Hoffschneider. LaDonna was the oldest of their five children. LaDonna was raised on the family farm and graduated from Waco High. LaDonna was united in marriage to Dean Schrader of Hampton, NE in August of 1953.  Together, they had three children; Steven, David and Brenda. After raising their three children, LaDonna actively pursued a career in nursing. In October of 1977, LaDonna married Dave Davis, with whom she was blessed with two additional daughters, Jill and Abby.

LaDonna and Dave’s sobriety further strengthened their faith and impacted their ability to help so many other people. This fueled their purpose to return to Broken Bow which resulted in giving back to the community they so loved.  LaDonna had a special gift for touching the hearts of others and she exemplified unconditional love. She especially treasured her time spent studying and sharing the Word of God.  She enjoyed visiting Estes Park, attending Nebraska football games, and spending time with family, which included her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

LaDonna is survived by children:  Steven (Ann) Schrader of Omaha; David (Jody) Schrader of Omaha; Brenda Woodworth of Loveland, CO; Jill Forshey of Columbus, OH; Abby Davis of Holdrege.

Grandchildren: Brittni (Rocky) Heckman of Gretna; Jennifer (Calvin) Rowe of Omaha; CJ Hashenberger of Wichita, KS; Kody (Cora) Schrader of Omaha; Casey (Stacy) Schrader of Lincoln; Jonathan (Lindsay) Woodworth of Loveland, CO; Nathan (Michelle) Woodworth of Fort Collins, CO; Zachary (Chantel) Woodworth, of Loveland, CO; Maverick Woodworth of Loveland, CO; Janelle Snyder of Omaha; Jessica Meehan (Jeff Mankel) of Birmingham, AL.  Great-granchildren: Aubrey, Bryson and Haley Heckman; Jaden and Landen Porter; Miranda Hashenberger; Karter Schrader; Mack and Noah Schrader; Ayden and Zoey Woodworth; Connor and Noelle Woodworth; Hilde Woodworth; Isabella and Connor Snyder; Lily Mankel.

Siblings:  Lois Hartman (Larry Voorhees) of Omaha; Glen (Sharon) Hoffschneider of Eloy, AZ; Mark (Mila) Hoffschneider of Scottsdale, AZ. Sisters-in-law:  Ann Davis Holcomb of Broken Bow; Pat Hoffschneider of Lincoln.

LaDonna was preceded in death by parents, Oscar, and Stella Hoffschneider; husband, Dave Davis; brother, John Hoffschneider;  brother-in-law, Chuck Holcomb; sons-in-law, Bill Woodworth and Dr. Tony Forshey; Dean Schrader.

Memorials may be made in LaDonna M Davis name, to the Mount Olive Evangelical Lutheran Church.
