Broken Bow, NE – Maxine Ragland age 87 of Broken Bow, NE passed away December 5, 2024, at the Jennie M Melham Memorial Medical Center.

Maxine Lavan Ragland was born December 20, 1936, in Loup Valley, NE to John L. and Eva Mae (Douthit) Ragland. Maxine grew up in the Ord area. Maxine received her teaching degree from Kearney State Teachers College. Maxine taught at Berwyn and Westerville.

Maxine lived in the Broken Bow area for over 60 years. She enjoyed taking care of her yard, listening to radio sermons, crocheting, embroidering, and making quilts.

Maxine is survived by brother John Ragland of Hickman, sister Rachel Peterson of Gering, and several nieces and nephews.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents John and Eva and a sister Barbara Rundback.
