Lillie Schneidereit was a colorful woman both in spirit and in clothing choices. She loved to laugh, was funny and her sunny personality was infectious.
Lillie was devoted to her family, was ever present and always wanted to help. She was tenderhearted and caring. Her positive nature was inspiring, and she could always see the best in a person. Many was the time she would call her family “Honey Dear” or “kliena matzi”.
Lillie loved animals and was at her happiest tending to them. Lillie was a hard worker who lived on a farm outside of Brewster her whole life. She took pride in her farm animals and pets. Her last dog “Jack” was very special to Lillie. He passed away in 2023 and was cremated. He will be buried with Lillie so they can be together forever.
She liked jellybeans and orange candy circus peanuts. Her love for music came from the heart and she loved playing the piano. Lillie always had a garden. Potatoes, tomatoes, watermelon, muskmelon, and strawberries were grown. She harvested chokecherries, plums, and currants, and made jelly with her mother who also lived on the farm. She took pride in her small orchard. Lillie also enjoyed crocheting and going fishing.
After leaving the farm Lillie and her brother Billy (William) both went into the care home together where they lived out their years until Billy’s passing in 2016.
Faith was important to Lillie. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church outside of Brewster.
In honor of Lillie’s love of color and sunny nature we request you wear something colorful and comfortable to the service. Her life was filled with color and positivity. Her life is something to be celebrated.
Lillie was preceded in death by her parents Otto and Rose (Schlyer) Schneidereit, and brother “Billy” (William) Schneidereit.
Lillie is survived by her nieces and nephew Rose Mapel of Cozad, Lois Kay of Indianapolis, IN, Mary Derby of Louisville, and Otto Schneidereit of Anselmo, and many great nieces and nephews.
