Whitman, NE - Marie Ann Wiese gained her wings on Sunday, February 6th, 2022, at the age of 72, of Whitman, NE.
Marie was born July 21st, 1949, to Robert (Bob) & Shirley (Renick) Curtis in Alliance, Nebraska. She grew up in the country at Whitman and attended country school and then continued on at Mullen Schools where she graduated in 1967.
Guy and Marie were united in marriage on June 14th, 1969, in Mullen, Nebraska. Two sons were born into this marriage, Thomas (Tom) and James (Jim).
Marie was a wonderful wife, mother, aunt, sister-in-law, and friend to many. She was an exceptional cook, seamstress, and gardener. She loved her grandchildren, her chickens, and when she had them, her goats. She also loved to read.
Marie is survived by her husband Guy, sons Tom (Lucie) Wiese of Whitman, Jim (Crystal) Wiese of Hill City, SD. grandchildren Curtis & Chloe Wiese and Riley, Mason & Kelsey Wiese. sister Lorraine (Dan) Deibler, sisters-in-law, Jo Robinson of Lincoln, Rosemary (George) Tracy of Mullen, and Eva (Jim) Crawford of Mullen. aunt-in-law Fedora Groenewold of Hastings, her close circle of friends; Barbara McCully, Patsy Phipps, Bert Downing, Phyllis Phillips, Peggy Marsh and Tanya Storer. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Robert (Bob) & Shirley Curtis, in-laws Art & Grace Wiese, grandparents Bill & Ethel Curtis, John Renick, and Marie & Mike Brennen. brother-in-law Thomas Wiese, numerous uncles & aunts.
Funeral service will be held at the United Methodist Church in Mullen on Thursday February 10th, at 10 am MT. The service will be livestreamed at www.govierbrothers.com. Burial to following at the Whitman Cemetery with Pastor Shanon Williams officiating. Govier Brothers Mortuary of Mullen are in charge of arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the Whitman Cemetery, Community Center or your choice. A visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 9th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm MT at the Mullen Funeral Home in Mullen, NE. Govier Brothers Mortuary of Mullen are in charge of arrangements.
