Maxine was delivered by her grandmother on March 17, 1929, to Edward & Bessie (Park) Taylor at Bushyhead, Oklahoma (Cherokee Nation). She graduated high school from Rocky Ford, Colorado in 1946. Maxine lived and worked most of her life in Albuquerque, New Mexico, moving to Nebraska in 2000 to be closer to her daughter.
Maxine retired from AT&T as a telephone operator in 1998 and was very proud to have served as Vice President of the CWA Union.
The one thing Maxine cherished most was her family. She opened her home up to anyone needing a bite to eat or a place to lay their head. Watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up was one of the things she cherished the most. She loved her family so much that each of them received a quilt made by Maxine the Christmas of 2020. 94 quilts were made with love and a lot of laughter in 12 short months. She loved playing board games and card games with her grandchildren. Grama Great was excellent at UNO and was often found cheating at the game just so she could beat her grandchildren and listen to them laugh.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, one brother, one half-sister and three half-brothers.
Those left to cherish her memory are her nine children: Ben (Jan) Taul, Jeri Lynn Taul, Jim (Mary) Taul, Robin (Butch) Johnson, Luana Taul, Roger Taul, Mike (Liz) Taul, Charlotte Taul, Lori Taul, and a special niece Candy Thompson. Grama Great was also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren along with her beloved dog Molly and cats Fancy, Missy and Lucy.
