Mike was the sixth child born on November 20, 1961, to Theodore and Gloria (Heitman) Gaedke in North Platte, Nebraska.  He grew up on the family farm near Wellfleet, Nebraska with his 3 brothers and 2 sisters.  Mike graduated from Wallace High School with the class of 1980.  He worked several jobs before being employed by Becton Dickinson for 24 years where he met the love of his life and best friend, Terri Curtis of Broken Bow, Nebraska.  They were married on January 17, 2004.  From this union they were blessed with a son T.J. (Theodore Jonas).

Through the years, Mike played his upside down-left handed guitar and sang with several musical groups and individuals including the “White Line Fever Band” and “Better Than Bingo”.  His love of music continued by singing for his Lord Jesus Christ and church, family, and many friends.  He could play any instrument when given the chance.  His favorite instrument being the mandolin.  Mike loved spending time camping, fishing, playing many board games and cards with his family whenever he had the opportunity.  He loved his family with all of his heart and had a special bond with each of them.  Mike never knew a stranger and always had time for chatting.  He would drop everything for anyone in need of help.  Mike had a passion for coin collecting and was often found slipping a coin to a niece or nephew on occasion for getting him a glass of tea.  He loved to talk about how Jesus changed his life forever and now he is singing with the angles in perfect harmony.

Those left to love and cherish fond memories are his wife Terri, son T.J. of Ansley; sister Sandy (Jay) Welden of North Platte; brother Duanne (Dixie) Gaedke of North Platte; brother Ron (Deb) Gaedke of North Platte; sister Alice (Ernie) Gibson of Arnold; brother Jerome (Mary) Gaedke of Wellfleet; dad-in-law and mom-in-law Eugene and Ella Curtis of Anselmo; sister-in-law Sheri (Doug) Bryant of Anselmo; sister-in-law Tina (Tony) Millsap of Broken Bow; nieces and nephews Susan, Jeremy, Jennifer, Jeff, Jon, Janelle, Kristin, Sarah, Amanda, Dana, Tracy, Jared, Jessica, Trevor, Tytus, Olivia, and Addison.  Several great-nieces, great-nephews,cousins, and friends too numerous to count but had a special place in his heart.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, one niece, and one great nephew.  Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
