Mildred M Whitehead

August 19, 1918 — March 31, 2018

            Callaway, NE - Mildred Whitehead age 99 of Callaway formerly of Broken Bow died Saturday, March 31, 2018, at the Callaway Good Life Center.             Mildred was born August 19, 1918, the fifth child of Willard and Emma (Johnson) Govier at the family farm and educated in the Country School in Swiss Valley.             Mildred was married to J. Clinton Whitehead at the home of her parents in Swiss Valley June 16, 1940, and they made their home in Litchfield where Clinton was employed until Clinton went into the Service June 16, 1943, she moved back to Swiss Valley to be with her folks.             Clinton was discharged from the Service in October 1945 then they made their home in Broken Bow where he set up a watch and clock repair business. Mildred worked in a local Dental Office for nine years, then she went into the Shop to help Clinton and they worked together enjoying many valued customers and friends. After thirty-five years in the business, they retired and enjoyed their home, family, and friends.             Mildred was a member of the Weissert Church of God whom she considered family.             She was preceded in death by her husband Clinton, Father and Mother, Five Sisters, Violet, Sylvia, Ruby, Mabel and Charlotte, One brother George T. Govier and one infant brother Nehls. Survivors many Nieces, Nephews and friends.             Memorials to Weissert Church of God and the Lone Tree Cemetery.             Funeral services for Mildred M. Whitehead will be Thursday, April 5, 2018, at 10:30 AM at Govier Brothers Mortuary. Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery in Weissert, Nebraska. Visitation will be Thursday morning 8:00 AM until Service time.
