Mitch Geiser

Mitchel Dean Geiser, age 70, of Arnold NE entered the Kingdom of Heaven on July 11, 2024, surrounded by family at the UNMC in Omaha, NE after a long-fought battle with cancer.

Mitch was born on September 15, 1953, in Arnold, NE to Lyle and Viola (Scott) Geiser. He learned his hard work ethic at a very young age, growing up on the Geiser ranch as the youngest of three brothers. He attended Arnold Public School where he developed his love for singing by participating in school musicals and choir before he graduated in 1971.

His first love was his 1977 Ford pickup, but he quickly fell in love with his loyal, loving wife that stood by his side until the day he took his final breath. Mitch and Lisa Ross were united in marriage at Arnold Methodist Church on July 26, 1980. From this union, they were blessed with a son and daughter. He was a wonderful husband, always supporting Lisa’s businesses and crazy ideas. He worked on the family farm prior to working for Great Plains Communication for 34 years before retiring in 2019.

He was active in many roles in the Arnold community; serving on the village board, fire department board and economic development board, as a Navigator for many years in the Sandhills Open Road Challenge, and in the Baptist church, where he was a member of the Iron Sharpens Iron men’s group. Mitch loved watching Husker football and volleyball games and coming home on Sunday afternoons to a roast in the crock pot and NFL games on the TV. He also enjoyed spending time outside in his yard, where he was very meticulous about his lawn, winning Yard of the Month multiple times. His love for farming and John Deere tractors was passed down to his grandchildren, collecting toy and antique models. Mitch was always present at his children and grandchildrens’ various events. He was the center of his grandkids’ world and his love for woodworking allowed him to create the treehouse of their dreams and helped Lisa to make every holiday magical with their love for decorating and baking.

Most importantly his strong love and faith in his Lord Jesus Christ helped carry him through his difficult trials the final two years of his earthly life – 2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

He was preceded in death by his parents Lyle and Viola Geiser, mother-in-law Ruth Ross, and infant brother Roger.

He is survived by his wife Lisa of 43 years, son Devin (Sarah) Geiser, daughter Da’Lacy (Justin) Lans, grandchildren Caleb Geiser; Jordan, Jacob, Joslynn, James and Jorgianna Lans, brothers Gary (Connie) Geiser and Lannie (Teri) Geiser, father-in-law

Larry Ross, brother-in-law Randy (Linda) Ross, sister-in-law LeAnn Ross, and numerous nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends.
