Broken Bow, NE- Norma Mae Curtis, 101 of Broken Bow died Saturday December 7, 2024, at the Brookestone View in Broken Bow.
Funeral services will be held on Friday December 13, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow with Pastor Larry DeMoss officiating. Burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family. A visitation will be held on Thursday December 12, 2024, 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM with family greeting friends 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Govier Brothers Mortuary. Norma Mae Curtis was born on August 7, 1923, in Berwyn, NE to Oliver and Alma (Harmon) Pracht. She attended school at the Cherryville Country School. On March 7, 1945, she married Lloyd Curtis at her family home east of Broken Bow. They made their home near Anselmo, where they farmed. To this marriage, six children were born.
After moving to town, Norma worked as a waitress for the City Café, Heritage Inn, Elk’s Lodge, and Uncle Ed’s.
Norma loved her kids and grandkids, flowers, working in her garden, painting, and wallpapering. She was a great servant and caregiver.
Norma is survived by her children Linda Krushe of McKenzie, TN, Larry (Sherry Jensen) Curtis of Anselmo, Louise (Randy) Stewart of Silver Creek, Laurel (Jim) Krason of Kearney, Lanny (Mary) Curtis of Broken Bow, and Leslie (Lisa) Curtis of Bellevue, 21 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd, parents Oliver and Alma, sisters Donna Mae (Norman) Skinner and Erma (Earl) Douglass, brothers Howard (Dorothy) Pracht and Loyd (Esther) Pracht, brothers and sisters-in-law Arthur (Mabel) Curtis, Ruth (Ray) Shoemaker, and Harold (Katherine) Curtis, grandson Teynor Lloyd Krason, great-grandson Liam James Krason, and a great-granddaughter Braya Lynn Gans.
