Patsy Berney

October 2, 1947 — December 22, 2021

We regretfully announce the passing of Patricia Dale Evans. A fighter until the end, she passed away on December 22, 2021, at the age of 74, in Mullen Nebraska.  Patsy had a difficult battle with Parkinsons disease and is finally at rest. She will be forever loved and forever remembered. An independent and vibrant personality from the beginning, Patsy was born in Ashby, Nebraska on October 2, 1947, to James (Jim) and Elizabeth (Cedia) Evans. Patsy’s early years were spent in Ashby and Hyannis areas. She attended school at Hyannis Grade School, Red Mill School, and Ashby Grade School. Patsy spent these years living on ranches where she developed her love for animals. She attended Hyannis High School graduating in 1965. Her lover for plants led her to Grand Island School of Business and Central Community College, majoring in Landscaping and Horticulture. She wore many hats and was always willing to help with any job. She enjoyed two particular carrier paths, including driving a dump truck for her brother-in-law and operating a racing greyhound farm for her parents in Kansas. She had an extreme love for reading and a particular favor for Louis L’Amour. No matter where life took her, her love for her family and the sandhills always brought her home.

She leaves to cherish her sweet memories, one daughter, Montica (Daniel) Haney; two grandchildren, Hannah (Matthew) Ferguson and Gabriel Haney; two great grandchildren, Danica Ferguson & baby Ferguson; three siblings, Judy (Neil) Gottlob, Ron (Chris) Evans and Randy (Rick) Evans; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents, James and Elizabeth Evans.

A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
