Arcadia, NE - Raymond O. Bouma, faithful brother and favorite uncle age 87 died May 14, 2017 at his home in Arcadia, Nebraska. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 10:30 am at the Arcadia Community Center in Arcadia, Nebraska with Pastor Ray Berry officiating. Interment will be at the Arcadia Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be Wednesday May 17, 2017 9:00 am until 3:00 pm at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow, Nebraska and Wednesday evening 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Community Center in Arcadia. Memorials are suggested to Arcadia Fire and Rescue or Legion Post #0251. Ray was born December 22, 1929 west of Arcadia to Namen and Mary (Franzen) Bouma. He attended school in the Lamphear District and Bristol. He served in Korea in 1952 and 1953, then worked in farming near Arcadia and Bushnell. He also worked on a Refuge around Alamosa Colorado. He enjoyed his retirement tinkering at Dale’s Riverside before moving into Hawthorne Manor. He mostly enjoyed visiting about “back when” with friends and family. Survivors include his brother Dean (Evelyn) Bouma of Weatherford, Oklahoma, brother in law Ken Ames of Denver, Colorado and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven sisters and one brother.
