Raymond Hanson

Raymond Hanson age 80 of Thedford, NE passed away April 18, 2023, at the Jennie M Melham Memorial Center in Broken Bow, NE.

Memorial services will be Saturday, May 6, 2023, at 3:00 pm at the United Church of Christ in Thedford, NE with Pastor Les Parmenter officiating. Inurnment will be in Hot Springs, SD at a later date. Raymond Paul Hanson

March 25, 1943--April 18, 2023

Raymond was born in Hot Springs, South Dakota

His school years were spent at the Hot Springs grammar school and Hot Spring high school. After high school he married Pat Heirmier. To this union Cindy and Brenda were born.  Raymond learned to operate heavy equipment from his dad and uncle. He was well known around the Fall River area building dams and other dirt work for the Conservation Service. Ray also did a short time in California for the Forest Service doing fire control. In 1970 he married Margaret in California and moved back to SD.  He and his dad partnered up and did heavy equipment in the Tri-State area.  To this union Randy Paul was born Feb 16 ,1972 and passed away on the 17th. In February 1974 Rhonda (Kursave) was born.

Survivors include Rhonda Kursave, James Alexander, Juliet Brafford, John Alexander, sister Patricia (Steve) Koller, Cindy and Brenda and many nieces and nephews and grandkids.

Preceding him in death are his son Randy, his dad Melvin Hanson, his mom Jessie Lookabill, sister JoAnn Barber and sister Helen.
