Ansley,NE- Raymond Hawkins age 77 of Ansley, died Saturday February 17, 2018 at the Brookestone View Care Home in Broken Bow. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday February 20, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Ansley with Pastor Jim Koontz officiating. Burial will be in the Ansley Cemetery. Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow is in charge of the arrangements. A visitation will be held on Tuesday February 20, 2018, 11:00 AM until service time at the church. Raymond was born on September 12, 1940 to Harold and Zilpha (Akin) Hawkins. He was raised alongside two siblings on the family farm outside of Mason City, NE. He graduated from Mason City High School. He was united in marriage to Marvelle (Mason)Reinhardt on June 5, 1965. The couple made their home in Ansley and the surrounding area. Raymond was employed at Becton-Dickinson in Broken Bow for 25 years before retiring. Raymond enjoyed camping, fishing, visiting with his friends, working in the garden and wood work. Raymond is survived by daughters Veronica(Rod) Gartner of Grand Island; Melody Falk of Scottsdale, AZ; Dianne(David)Parmely of Grand Island; Brenda (Frank) Everett of Dunnegan, MO and son Gordon of Ansley, 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; a sister Debra(Bob) Racicky and sister-in-law Sharon Wiese and numerous nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Carol Jones for all of her years of caring for Raymond. Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Marvelle, his parents and a brother, Irwin. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.
