Rex H. May, age 91, of Broken Bow, Ne. formerly of the Cliff Table Community west of Merna, Ne. died Friday December 1, 2017 at the Brookstone View Care Home at Broken Bow, Ne. Funeral services will be held Tuesday Dec. 5, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the Evangelical Free Church in Broken Bow with Pastor Tim Peterson and Rev. Irv Jennings officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery at 10 a.m. Visitation will be Monday Dec. 4, 2017 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Govier Brothers Mortuary. Memorials may be offered to the CRU or the Evangelical Free Church. Rex was born on June 9, 1926 at Callaway, NE to David and Irene (Neth) May. Rex attended country school and later Callaway High School. Rex went to work on the farm with his parents. He was married to Marvella Hanneman on March 20, 1950. Rex and Marvella lived most of their lives in the Cliff Table Community west of Merna, Ne. Rex served as a Custer County Supervisor from 1991-1995 and was a member of the Hitch and Git Driving Club. Rex is survived by his wife Marvella May of Broken Bow, 3 sons Richard (Kathy) May of Minden, Ne., Leonard (Sue) May of Lexington, Ne., and Melvin (Beverly) May of Merna, Ne. 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, a sister-in-law Nellie May of Broken Bow. Rex was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Dale, Gerald, and 1 sister Maxine.
