Rose Bell

November 16, 1929 — July 6, 2023

Rosaline “Rose” Vona (Kieborz) Bell age 93 of Broken Bow, NE passed away July 6, 2023, at the Jennie M Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow.

Memorial services will be Friday, July 21, 2023, at 1:00 pm at the St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Broken Bow, NE. Burial will follow in the Broken Bow Cemetery. Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. A register book may be signed at Govier Brothers Mortuary. Govier Brothers Mortuary are in charge of arrangements. Words of encouragement may be left online at www.govierbrothers.com.

Rose was born November 16, 1929, in Litchfield, NE to Laura (Zanzig) and Otto Kieborz. Rose was baptized January 5, 1930, at the Lutheran Church in Litchfield, NE by Pastor Daelmke. Rose was confirmed July 13, 1952, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Broken Bow, NE by Pastor R.N. Baur. Rose graduated from Litchfield High School. On August 13, 1946, Rose was united in marriage to Byron Lee Bell.

Rose worked at the Broken Bow Municipal Utilities part time. She organized the Western Welcome Service in 1966 and was the Hostess until 1975. Rose and Lee purchased Bell’s Bow Booterie shoe store and ran it for 26 years. For the first couple years Rose managed the shoe store daily while Lee continued to drive his delivery truck.

Rose was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Broken Bow. She taught Sunday School and was a member of the Lutheran Ladies organization. She was a long-time member of the Stitch-n-Kitchen Extension Club.

Rose was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother who was proud of her children and their families. She enjoyed cooking and trying out new recipes. Rose was a great baker who was always willing to share. She loved flowers and working in the yard. She and Lee enjoyed card games and get togethers with “the gang” over the years. A big highlight of her life was celebrating her 60th Anniversary with Lee and all of their family. Rose and Lee had great times together on camping trips.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband Lee, parents Otto and Laura, two brothers Leonard and Bernard Kieborz

Rose is survived by her four sons Dan (Denise) Bell, Mike (Sally) Bell, Greg (Cindy) Bell, and Brad (Kelly) Bell and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
