Samuel LeRoy Scott Jr. went to be with the Lord May 27th 2017. Funeral Services will be Thursday June 1st , 2:00 pm at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow, Nebraska with Stanley Morrison and Jonathan McDonald officiating. Burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery with Military rites. Visitation will be Wednesday May 31st 9:00 am to 8:00 pm at Govier Brother Chapel. Samuel L Scott was born January 7, 1921 to Mary Edna Wooters Scott and Samuel LeRoy Scott at a home in the Dry Valley area. He was the youngest of 7 children. Sam attended the Dry Valley School. In 1942 he was drafted into the Army where he served in Holland, Belgium, France and England until 1945. Sam was honored with a Citation Award for heroism. After returning home Sam was united in marriage with Florence Jean Bryner on June 20, 1963. Together they adopted 2 children, Marilyn in 1966 and Steven in 1969. Sam made his choice to serve God in 1963 and was a devoted member Non Denomination Faith of Christ. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was employed by the Custer County Road Dept. for many years. He is survived by his son Steven (Connie) Scott of Broken Bow and daughter Marilyn (William) Burkert of Casa Grande AZ., 7 grand children and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Florence, two brothers, and four sisters.
