Sharon Hansen

Sharon Hansen age 65 formerly of Broken Bow, NE passed away November 9, 2024, at the Beaver City Manor in Beaver City, NE.

A Celebration of Life and time to greet the family will be held Friday, November 15, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Hooves & Paws Rescue of the Heartland in Glenwood, IA to assist with the care of one of Sharon’s favorite animals… horses.

Sharon Louise (Birney) Hansen was born on December 31, 1958, in Denison, Iowa to Clemet and Arlene (North) Birney. Sharon graduated from Denison High School and later graduated from Kearney State College with a degree in Mathematics. 

 Sharon’s former marriage was blessed with four children: Jessica, Jeffrey, Matthew, and Heather.

Sharon is survived by her daughter Jessica Hansen of Wilsonville, NE, son Jeffrey Hansen of Greeley, CO, and son Matthew (Cassie) Hansen of Ansley. She is also survived by her brother Robert (Susan) Birney of the state of Washington, sister Bonnie (Kevin) Wright of Broken Bow, NE, two granddaughters Kay and Cass, and sister-in-law Peg Birney. 

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Glen, her daughter Heather, and her granddaughter Jordyn.
