SHARON'S STRUGGLE WITH DEMENTIA ENDED NOVEMBER 4, 2018 AT THE BROOKESTONE VIEW IN BROKEN BOW, NE.  SHE WAS THE SEVENTH OF SEVEN CHILDREN BORN TO LEWIS AND FLORENCE (FOX) CRAWFORD. SPOILED FROM DAY ONE SHE WAS THE ONLY ONE OF THESE CHILDREN TO BE BORN IN A HOSPITAL.  SHE ATTENDED MASON CITY PUBLIC SCHOOL BUT GRADUATED FROM LOUP CITY IN 1966. SHE FINISHED HER EDUCATION IN LOUP CITY AFTER THE HIGH SCHOOL IN MASON CITY CLOSED. SHE LOVED VOLLEYBALL AND SPOKE OFTEN OF MAKING FIRST STRING AS A FRESHMAN.

WHEN SHARON WASN'T WORKING, SHE LOVED TO READ BOOKS.  IF YOU DROVE BY THE FARM LATE AT NIGHT YOU WERE SURE TO SEE A LIGHT SHINING IN A WINDOW AS SHE JUST COULDN'T PUT HER BOOK DOWN UNTIL SHE READ IT TO THE END.  SHE LOVED DOING CROSSWORD PUZZLES. ITEMS SHE CROCHETED WERE COVETED BY MANY FAMILY MEMBERS.  SHE SPENT MANY, MANY HOURS PIECING TOGETHER HER FAMILY'S GENEOLOGY. SHE ALSO TOOK GREAT PRIDE IN HER PART ON THE COMMITTEE FOR THE MASON CITY COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT PLAN. SHE ALSO SEEMED TO TAKE GREAT JOY IN DOING BOOKWORK FOR THE FARM AND DRIVING HERSELF NUTS TO FIND A ONE CENT ERROR IF THEY DID NOT BALANCE.  THE GREATEST OF HER ACCOMPLISHMENTS WAS THE LOVE AND CARE SHE GAVE TO ALL OF US, HER FAMILY.
