Shelly Thomas age 61 of Broken Bow, NE passed way November 20, 2021, at the CHI Nebraska Heart Institute in Lincoln, NE.

Memorial services will be Friday, December 3, 2021, at 10:30 am at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow, with Steven Finney officiating. Inurnment will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Family. Govier Brothers Mortuary are in charge of arrangements. An online guest book may be signed at www.govierbrothers.com

Shelly Joy Schmidt Thomas was born August 5, 1960, in Broken Bow, NE to Carl Eugene and Wanda Marcene (Parker) Schmidt. Shelly was raised in Broken Bow area and attended Broken Bow High School. On September 11, 1982, she was united in marriage to Kim Thomas at the Assembly of God Church in Broken Bow. The couple made their home in Broken Bow. Shelly was a nurse’s aide at Sandhills Manor, and JMMMMC, for the past 10 years she has worked at Becton Dickinson. Shelly had a passion for animals, her hobbies were camping, boating, and most of all her children and grandchildren.

Shelly is survived by her husband Kim of Broken Bow, children Jeremy Schmidt of Norfolk, Sarah Thomas of Colorado, and Sheena Tubbs of North Platte, eight grandchildren: Alianna, James, Dalton, Sarah, Alessia, Giovanni, Liliana, and Keegan, brother Randy Schmidt of Broken Bow, sister Cheryl Adams of Lincoln, and her Uncle Daryl and Aunt Debbie Smathers and their family of California. 

Shelly was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Wanda Schmidt, infant children: Kevin and Mandy, and two grandchildren: Jayden and Adrian. She was also preceded in death by her mother-in-law Beverly Young and grandparents Don and Arletta Tabor.
