Sue Faye Johnson

Sue Faye Johnson passed peacefully at her home in Dunning, NE October 27, 2019, at the age of 67.

Sue was born on November 21, 1951 in Burwell, NE to Floyd and Beth (Sanford) Britton. Sue graduated from Burwell High School. She met and married Eugene E. Johnson on May 28, 1971. To this union two daughters were born, Teresa and Brenda.

Gene & Sue started their home in Ord, NE, then moved to Burwell in 1978. Sue sold Avon, worked at Blueberry Hill and ran the Rodeo Theater in the evenings with her husband. Sue was a dedicated Girl Scout Leader for several years. Sue and her family then moved to Dunning in 1990, Sue worked at Sandhill High School, was a cook at Stubs in Thedford, and later helped her youngest daughter Brenda at the Cowpoke Cafe before she retired.

The highlights of her life were her family, watching her grandchildren grow, graduate, and get married. Sue was also very proud of her great-grandchildren and spending time with all during the Holidays.

Sue never met a stranger; she was so full of love and kindness.

Sue is preceded in death by her husband Gene Johnson, parents Floyd and Beth, granddaughter Emily Johnson, great-grandson Zachary Johnson, one brother Carl Britton, and many others.

Sue is survived by daughters Teresa (Jim) Green of Chappell, Brenda (Mike) Corbin of Thedford, grandchildren EJ Bailey of McCook, Brittony (Kasey) Drake of Burwell, Elizabeth Green of Chappell, Josh (Amanda) Green of Sidney, Jessica (John) Baker of Bellevue, Jake (Ashley) Green of Sutherland, eight great-grandchildren, two brothers Allen Britton of Riverton, WY, and Don Britton of Ord, NE, and one sister Dorie Knight of Sparks, NV.

Sue will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Memorial services will be Friday, November 8, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the Open Bible Church in Dunning, NE with Pastor David Abbott officiating. Burial will be in the Fort McPherson Cemetery in Maxwell, NE. A memorial fund is set up at the Nebraska State Bank (checks need to be made out to Teresa Green or Brenda Corbin).
