Ted Baillie

Ted L Baillie age 76 of Broken Bow died peacefully Monday, December 14, 2020 at JMMMMC.

A Funeral service for family and close friends will be held on Thursday, December 17^th   at 1:00 pm at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow, NE. The funeral service will be livestreamed at www.govierbrothers.com. The public is invited to attend the Graveside service with Military Honors at 1:30 pm at the Broken Bow Cemetery. Masks are required to be worn at the Funeral and Graveside service. In lieu of flowers, Memorials are suggested to the Family to present as a donation to the American Cancer Society.  A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 16^th from 1:00 to 7:00 pm at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow. An online guest book may be signed for words of encouragement or remembrance at www.govierbrothers.com. Govier Brothers Mortuary will comply with the CDC and State of Nebraska.

Ted was born August 9, 1944 to Avalo and Imogene (Prescott) Baillie. He was Baptized at a young age at Assembly of God Church in Westerville. Ted attended Cherryvale Country School until the 8^th grade, finishing his education at Broken Bow, graduating in 1962.

He joined the U.S. Army in 1963, was Honorably Discharged in 1969, serving most of his time in Germany. He was united in marriage to Judy K. Brakeman on February 16, 1967. They lived happily ever after for 53 years in their hometown of Broken Bow. To this union two sons were born: Tim and Jeff.

Ted was a jack of all trades but was an ole farm boy at heart. He enjoyed being at the family farm in Westerville, haying in the summers and running cattle until retirement.

Ted also worked for the County until he started his own Carpentry business, specialty being custom cabinets. He loved building and working with his hands; his craftsmanship was impeccable. Even in retirement, Ted would stay busy with building projects, traveling with Judy, fishing, or having coffee with the guys at Tumbleweed. But his greatest joy was attending his grandkids many activities.

Left to cherish the memories they made with Ted are his devoted wife Judy, son Tim (Angie), grandson Tyler, granddaughter Amanda (Dakota) Fitzgerald and great grandson Sutton.

Ted is also survived by his brother Lowell (Lana) Baillie, sister Jo (Bob) Woodward. He will be mourned by many nieces, nephews, and friends as well. Ted never knew a stranger.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents, and son Jeff.
