Viola M Tucker

August 29, 1937 — November 18, 2018

Viola M. Tucker, 81, of Sargent, NE. passed away peacefully to join her Heavenly Father on Sunday, November 18, 2018, at The Broken Bow Care and Rehabilitation Center in Broken Bow, NE.  Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 27, 2018, from 5-7 PM at the Sargent Church of Christ.  The funeral will be Wednesday, morning November 28, 2018, at 11:00 AM at the Sargent Church of Christ with Marty Robbins officiating. Burial will be at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Sargent, NE. Govier Brothers are in are of the arrangements. Online condolences can be left at www.govierbrothers.com.

Viola was born on August 29, 1937, to Charles Henry Molesworth and Nellie Opal (Troxel) Molesworth in

Taylor, NE. She joined an older sister Amy and older brother Alfred.  Viola graduated from Burwell High School in 1956.  Later that year she was united in marriage to Kenneth Johnson of Burwell.  To this union, five children were born Shari, Chuck, Neal, Donna, and Rebecca. They later divorced.

Viola and Walt Brunken Sr. were faithful and loving companions for many years before marrying in 1980. They spent three more wonderful years together before Walt’s passing. Walt and Viola enjoyed fishing, dancing, gardening, and taking care of the home they built together.  

In 1986 Viola married Stan Tucker of Sargent. They had two dogs together Dodee and Daisy. They were wed for 24 years. They enjoyed their two dogs, bird watching, and visiting family and friends in and out of state. 

Viola worked as a bartender, a nurse’s aide, a cook at different clubs in Garfield, Custer, and Loup Counties, cleaned homes for the elderly in and around Sargent and was an independent living instructor at Mid Nebraska Individual Services in Ord and Burwell.  Viola was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge of Custer County for over fifty years.

Viola enjoyed her faithful companion Daisy, bird watching, spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her many friends and family. She enjoyed country music and western television shows. Viola enjoyed attending church services and Sunday School at her church in Sargent. 

Viola is survived by her children Shari Johnson & Rich Griesman of Grand Island, NE., Chuck Johnson of Ames, NE., Neal Johnson & Jan Schultz of Spring Creek, NV., Donna Johnson of Warrensburg, MO., Rebecca Johnson of Kearney, NE., Butch & Taresa Brunken of Broken Bow, NE., Deb & Saul Olivas of Phoenix, AZ.,  Pam Tucker of Loveland, CO., Tim & Cindy Tucker of Mead, CO., Daughter-in-Law Donna Sake-Balkus of Omaha, NE., Sons-in-Law Lanny Curtis of Broken Bow, NE and Marlin Godfrey of Berthoud, CO.  Viola is also survived by 3 nieces, 5 nephews, 26 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, her dog Daisy, her first husband Kenneth, other relatives and many friends in the surrounding counties.

Memorials are suggested to the Sargent Ambulance, Sargent Firemen, Sargent Church of Christ and her Family.

Viola was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Nellie Molesworth, brother Alfred and sister-in-law Ruby Molesworth, sister Amy and brother-in-law Stan Petersen, husbands Walt and Stan, and one son Robert Stanley.
