Virginia “Ginny” Ann Ellison died May 11, 2018, in her home in Broken Bow, NE surrounded by friends and family. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, May 15th at the Evangelical Free Church, in Broken Bow, NE. Burial and graveside services will be conducted later that day at 3 pm at Prairie Center Cemetery north of Kearney, NE. A visitation will be held on Monday 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow with the family greeting friends 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to the Evangelical Free Church Little Lights Preschool. Ginny was born on November 10th, 1945 in Kearney, NE to Anna and Irvin Gillming where she grew up with brothers Dale, Wendell, Richard, Ron and her sister Arlene. She graduated from Kearney High School in 1964. In 1967 she married Dale Fruhling also from Kearney. In 1969, Dale died in the Vietnam War. On August 1, 1971, Ginny married her husband J.D., to whom she was married to for 46 years. Ginny is preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers Dale, Wendell, and Ron. Ginny is survived by her husband, J.D. of Broken Bow, her brother Rich Gillming of North Platte, and her sister Arlene Johnson of Kearney. She is also survived by her son, Justin Ellison of Kearney, his wife Brendie, and their children Jessa and Jacob. Ginny is survived by her son Jon Ellison of Omaha, and her stepdaughter Cheryl Goings-Jarosz of Omaha. Cheryl has two sons, Logan of Kansas City, MO and Noah of Lawrence, KS. She is survived by loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, and host of long-time friends. For nearly 35 years, Ginny ran a daycare out of her home. She has touched hundreds of children’s lives in the community, and continues to live on through them.
