Brandt, Wilma Darlene July 4, 1926 – February 7, 2018 Wilma Brandt, age 91, of Westerville, Ne. died February 7th, 2018 at the home of her son Lonnie and Brenda Brandt. Funeral services will be held at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow at 10:00 a.m. Monday February 12, 2018 with Pastors Stacey Erstrom, Mark Stones, and Mel Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in the Box Elder Cemetery near Cumro, Visitation will be Monday prior to the service at Govier Brothers Mortuary. Visiting and lunch following the interment will be at the Burr Oak Church Wilma is survived by her 6 daughters, Louella (Donnie) Barger of Riverdale, Ne., Viola (Dale) Schroeder of Kenesaw, Ne., Ramona (Michael) McDonald of Glenrock, Wy., Karla (Phil) Rohde of Litchfield, Ne., Dixie(Monte) Scofield of Grand Island, Ne., Penny Ruth of WiseRiver, Mt., 2, sons, Lonnie (Brenda) Brandt of Westerville, Ne., and Timothy Brandt of Pleasanton, Ne., 24 Grandchildren, 34 Great grandchildren, 2 Great great granddaughters, nieces and nephews, Wilma is preceded in death by her husband David in 1990, parents Henry and Molly Jochem,, 2 sisters Alvina Strumpler and husband Emil, Ella Barnes and husband Robert, and 1 brother Orie and wife Delores, Daughter in law Beth Brandt, son Ronnie Brandt and baby great grandson Avery Peasley. Wilma was born July 4, 1926 to Henry and Molly Jochem in the Sandhills of Ne., near Brewster. Wilma was married May 19, 1946 to David R. Brandt. To this union 9 children were born. The first 6 Ronnie, Luella, Lonnie, Viola, Timothy, and Ramona were born while they lived on a farm near Elm Creek. In 1958 they sold the farm and bought a bigger farm in the Cumro /Mason City area. While living there Karla, Dixie, and Penny were born. Wilma loved God and spent her life loving and caring for her family. In the spring and summer you could find her in her garden as she loved gardening and grew many of the families winter supply of veggies. Which she would freeze or can. When her health began to fail she lived for a time on the farm, Northridge now Brookdale in Kearney, and in Westerville, Ne.; all with the assistants, love, and care of family members.
